Lighting up the holidays
Brother's Holiday Lighting will start this year what it hopes to become a decades-long tradition by choosing three deserving organizations in King County in need of a little extra cheer - and light - this holiday season.
Three lucky organizations will be adorned with the works - full interior and exterior holiday decorations - courtesy of Brothers Holiday Lighting, Kirkland-based Fena Flowers, the home and business decorating company Holiday Assistants and City Flowers of Bellevue.
"If we can make people smile for a minute each time they see our work we’ve done our job," said Ryan Fleming, founder of Brothers Holiday Lighting.
The businesses will be donating their time and materials to making the holidays a brighter time for those less fortunate and as a way of giving back to the communities they serve.
If you work for or know of an organization that helps people in need or has had a particularly rough time during this tough economic recession, please nominate them by contacting us at info@brothershl.com. If they are not selected this year we might choose to work with them next year.
Recycling Lights for Charity
Collection ended January 3rd, 2010. If you did not get a chance to drop of those unusable strands this season please do not throw them away. Label them “Recycling for Charity” and hold onto the lights for our collection next year.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our “Recycling Lights for Charity” event. Collection efforts were a big success keeping thousands of pounds of lights out of the land fill and producing a nice check for charity.
Appreciation to Anderson Design and Illustration, KOMO 4, McClendons, West Seattle Recycle, Northgate Mall, Westfield-Southcenter Mall, and Tacoma Mall for their support.
Please visit the web sites for The Moyer Foundation and Project Kids Art for additional donation opportunities for either of the charities.

the day after Christmas is one day closer to next Christmas”
